Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering
Engineering License (Class II preferred)
Experience :-
Minimum 10 years practical Instrument Engineering experience in oil & gas or petrochemical industries, including:
Minimum 5 years experience in a design role
Previous experience in a Lead position would be an advantage
Overseas work experience would be an advantage, particularly in Middle East countries
Technical Knowledge/Skills :-
Comprehensive knowledge in the following areas:
Detailed design of instrumentation & control systems for oil & gas or petrochemical projects
Preparation of instrumentation design basis & control philosophy
Selection, sizing and specification of equipment, including: field instrumentation, metering systems, PLC, RTU, SCADA, DCS, telecommunications, fire detection & suppression systems
Industry standard communication protocols
International codes & standards
Hazardous area installation techniques
Field testing procedures
Man-hour summaries and progress reporting
Man-hour estimates for new projects
Knowledge of pipeline and related facilities design and construction would be an advantage
Personal Competencies :-
Communicate effectively in technical English
Supervise and direct a small team of engineers and designers
Work effectively with peers in a multi-disciplinary environment
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
